Rohan is a patent scientist in the chemistry/biology team. He has extensive experience operating at the interface between chemistry and biology. Rohan has also spent time servicing chemical industry and takes great pride in his ability to build productive relationships with clients.
Rohan completed his Honours and PhD studies at the University of Melbourne where his research focussed upon gaining a detailed understanding of the mechanism of various glycosidases. He subsequently completed a two year post-doctoral placement at the University of Toronto in Canada, investigating several projects of therapeutic relevance in carbohydrate chemistry and biology.
Rohan then returned to Melbourne as an analytical chemist for a multi-national inspection, product testing and certification company. He performed high-end analysis of a wide variety of industrial samples for a large client base of pharmaceutical, petrochemical, polymer, logistic and food companies.
Throughout his studies, Rohan has been the recipient of numerous academic awards including The Huntsman Australia Award for Research Excellence, awarded to the most outstanding Honours student in the School of Chemistry who enrols in postgraduate research. He was also awarded runner-up for the Elsevier Chemistry Challenge after outlining an original mini-research proposal.
Rohan has authored peer reviewed articles in journals such as the Proceedings of the National Academy of Science of the United States of America and Angewandte Chemie.
