FPA Patent Attorneys is ranked “Tier 1 for Patent Prosecution” by Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) for 2020/21

FPA Patent Attorneys has been ranked as “Tier 1” for Patent Prosecution in Australia for the fourth consecutive year by MIP, now called the “MIP IP Stars” award.

Our Managing Director and Principal James Cherry, stated “We are gratified to see the great work of our whole team recognised by MIP after such a detailed and rigorous analysis of the sector.  FPA has always set very high standards and we are grateful to our many long-term clients who have given us the opportunity to assist them enhance their IP position. And consistent with our philosophy, we are already working to develop an even better service offering for the year ahead in the unique circumstances that 2020 has brought".

In order to achieve this tier 1 status, MIP’s dedicated research team rigorously assessed our Attorneys’ IP work achievements, highlights, qualifications and expertise. Further, MIP undertook extensive market research over a six-month period and interviewed our clients during this time to develop a rounded view of FPA Patent Attorneys.

Five of our Attorneys have also received MIP IP Stars’ prestigious “IP Star” award which recognises “outstanding individuals” across the IP Landscape. Congratulations to James Cherry, Karen Bentley, John Dower, Daneta Crump and Chris Bird.

James and Karen lead our Life Sciences team which includes expertise across biotechnology, biology, chemistry, biomaterials and pharmaceutical sectors.

John, Daneta and Chris guide our Physics and Engineering team which spans mechanical engineering, electrical/software/information technology and physics/analytical devices.

This announcement follows one additional industry-leading award issued to FPA Patent Attorneys by IAM Patent 1000 – FPA was also ranked in the highest category by in IAM Patent 1000 as “Highly Recommended” for Patent Prosecution in Australia for 2020/21. Further, eight of our Attorneys featured in the IAM Patent 1000 guide for 2020/21.
