Emma has extensive experience in the fields of nanotechnology, materials chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology. She has had significant exposure to patent drafting over a number of years as well as large portfolio management and contentious work.
“Working at FPA has given me the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the most highly regarded IP practitioners in Australia. I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with my clients to optimise the value of their IP” said Emma.
Jason joined the firm in 2013 after graduating from Monash University with a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering (Hons) degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree. Jason completed his Master of Intellectual Property Law degree in 2016.

In responding to the announcement, FPA Patent Attorneys Managing Principal James Cherry said “Emma and Jason demonstrate our core values – to continually deliver exceptional service and innovation to all of our clients. We take enormous pride in being a workplace that attracts such outstanding talent and passion, and we are delighted their contribution has been recognised.”
The promotion of Emma and Jason reflects the firm’s continued growth with the recent appointment of Senior Associate Danny Gelman, Patent Attorney Ben Hayes, Patent Scientists Sinth Jegaskanda and Rohan Williams, Patent Engineer Alison Jackson and the elevation in 2018 of two attorneys to Senior Associate – Akanksha Dahiya and Alister McCowan.
