About Beatrice
Passionate about the translation of life changing research to real world application.
Beatrice completed her PhD studies in the field of fragment-based drug discovery, where she developed a novel workflow to expedite early-stage fragment-to-lead development for breast cancer therapeutics. Her postdoctoral research led her to the University of Newcastle where she switched focus to endocytosis inhibitors for a range of cancers. Finally, she worked in an industrial chemistry manufacturer, giving her a wide and multidisciplinary expertise that covers chemistry and drug discovery in a commercial and academic setting.
Beatrice has joined FPA as a patent scientist to realise her passion for translating academic research to commercial products with real societal benefits. She seeks to hone her skills in the protection and commercialisation of inventions so that she may actively facilitate the bench-to-bedside process.
Beatrice is also hugely passionate about science communication, having represented Monash University in the 3-minute thesis competition and placed top 10 in the Asia Pacific finals during her PhD. This skill, combined with her multidisciplinary scientific background and ample experience in project design and problem solving will ensure that her clients’ needs are met proactively and in a timely fashion.
Beatrice has authored or co-authored peer-reviewed articles in journals such as European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, Chemmedchem, ACS Med. Chem. Lett.
