Alison is a patent engineer in the physics/engineering team. She graduated from the University of Adelaide with double degree - a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic), and a Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Sciences (majoring in Statistics) where she achieved First Class Honours.
Alison’s honours research involved tip-driven wind generation and following this, she worked in power systems engineering roles in the high-voltage departments of BHP Billiton and Melbourne Airport.
Complementary to her academic studies, Alison completed two mathematical modelling and statistics-based summer vacation scholarships with the Maritime Operations and Land Operations Divisions of the Defence Sciences and Technology Organisation (now DST group).
More recently, Alison used her signal processing and statistical expertise to provide support for researchers at the Australian Catholic University and provided data analysis and predictive analytics for the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic’s office at Swinburne University of Technology.
Her current practice includes undertaking patent searches and prosecuting Australian and international patent applications.
