FPA Patent Attorneys appoints new Principal Chris Bird

FPA Patent Attorneys has continued its growth trajectory with the appointment of Patent Attorney Chris Bird to the Physics and Engineering team. Chris commenced at our Melbourne office, after previously being with Allens Linklaters.

Chris specialises in patent work, particularly in the computer science and engineering disciplines including the fields of electrical and electronic engineering, computer hardware and software, telecommunications, control systems, automotive engineering and medical technology. Chris has worked with a wide variety of clients, both locally and overseas.

As well as being a registered Australian and New Zealand Patent Attorney, Chris is a UK and European Patent Attorney. His skills in several European languages and experience of international transactions and engineering projects, enable him to bring clarity and valuable commercial perspectives to clients’ IP needs. He also has an active interest in Chinese IP matters.

The appointment of Chris follows the recent elevation of three senior attorneys to Principal - Dr Adam Denley, Daneta Crump and Dr Karen Bentley. In addition, Dr Rory Anderson and Dr Sarah Hennebry were promoted to the position of Senior Associate.
